Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Experience Designer leader to join the Enterprise team, which is responsible for delivering all of the Age of Learning products to our Schools and Foundation markets within a single, unified, and scalable experience. The ideal candidate is a strong visual communicator and creative product thinker who can wrap thoughtful UX in illustrative, engaging, and functional designs that delight our core audience in the schools market, focusing on the entire customer experience in and out of the platform. A streamlined creative POV is a must in both thought exercises, problem-solving, and the creation of experiences. This role is a truly unique blend of illustrative and product design, a chance to combine excellent user experience skills with user empathy and systems thinking.
As a Senior Experience Designer within the Enterprise product team, you will work cross-functionally with experienced educators, developers, designers, and product managers to create innovative digital learning experiences, products, and professional learning for teachers, other district faculty, and staff, and parents. This position requires high attention to detail, the ability to understand market needs and pain points, derive and communicate problem sets effectively, and utilize research findings and data to drive solutions that help educators create lasting learning outcomes for young kids.
Experience designing software technology and data analytics/visualizations are a must for this position. A strong understanding of the schools' market and user needs, as well as SaaS/B2B platforms, is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Create, design, and own the implementation of intuitive, streamlined, engaging features, content, events, and other product experiences that provide meaningful context to teachers, administrators, and parents. This includes not only design thinking but the visual assets that end up in the final design.
- Be the voice of and advocate for meaningful design for users. Drive their experience through all design-thinking phases of development and product implementation, with consideration for their experience engaging with Age of Learning both in and out of the platform interfaces.
- Work closely with product and cross-functional teams on the UI/UX/CX design implementation and iterate on our product experiences to engage, surprise, and delight users.
- Collaborate with research, data analytics, and other departments to evaluate, engage, retain, and activate our users and drive design decisions for efficient, effective product experiences that convert users to improve KPIs.
- Assess and apply both qualitative and quantitative feedback to improve informed design through highly engaging experience tuning across the entire product evangelizing the best practices of experience design.
Required Qualifications:
- Possess 7+ years of professional experience in strategizing and executing customer journeys, visual and interactive designs, and comprehensive UI/UX Design, including 2+ years of management experience.
- Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Communications, Graphic Design, Computer Science, Fine Arts, HCI or related fields; or equivalent experience with an emphasis on Visual, Experience, and Product Design.
- The ability to visually conceptualize and design purposeful interfaces that are intuitive, appealing, and innovative. Illustration capabilities are a huge plus.
- Experience working with data and designing data visualizations/analytics dashboards.
- Exceptional creative problem-solving skills with an adaptable, flexible mindset.
- Strong collaborative skills with the ability to receive and give constructive feedback as well as strong interpersonal communication skills to work independently.
- Strong multi-tasking skills with the ability to adapt and change priorities in a self-managed and organized way.
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills to both technical and non-technical team members.
- Ability to take ownership and accountability of projects, lead execution, and deliver against deadlines.
- “Roll up your sleeves” type of person, who is driven, self-motivated, and contributes positively to team culture.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of EdTech, education, and the schools market.
- SaaS and B2B experience
- Familiarity with working in a scrum/kanban/agile environment.
- Experience using both qualitative and quantitative research findings and live data to drive product design decisions and iteration.
- Capable of iterating divergently in low fidelity and refining solutions at high fidelity.
- Experience designing for web-based platforms, both desktop and mobile responsive.
- Experience with visualization, design, and web tools, such as Figma, Sketch, Lucid Chart, Adobe suite, Zeplin, Miro, WordPress/Elementor
