We are looking for an experienced technology writer to lead content development for both Roblox's Chief Technology Officer and Roblox Research. You will improve the Roblox story internally and externally – all according to our global vision and employer brand strategies.
This role is located at our headquarters in San Mateo, California. #LI-Hybrid
You will:
- Develop content such as blog posts, external presentations, contributed articles, white papers, messaging, and social media posts.
- Integrate with technical groups and teams at Roblox to help identify earned (press, speaking) and owned (blog, podcast, white paper, social media) comms opportunities for the executive comms team.
- Convert presentation scripts, email outlines, meeting/speaker notes into compelling narratives and external presentations.
- Deliver internal comms support, including our organization of core engineering and research materials and documents, management of engineering Confluence site and archival of slides from research and engineering presentations for future events.
- Collaborate and work across engineering, research, marketing, comms and social media teams.
- Report to our Director of Executive Communications
You have:
- 8+ years communications experience
- Experience writing about technically challenging subject matter.
- The ability to ingest technical information from engineering and research teams and transform it into storytelling that is succinct, accurate, and accessible to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience working directly with c-suite executives and engineers.
- Write and copy editing skills, presentation development (with some design) capabilities, and knowledge – and passion – for technical subjects, such as AI and ML, cloud computing, computer graphics, and distributed computing systems.
- Some experience with light video editing and website management using WordPress and associated CMS.
For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.
Annual Salary Range
$205,190 — $249,410 USD
