WHO WE ARE

We’re ArenaNet—we’ve created a studio that makes online worlds infused with innovation, hand-crafted excellence, and creative passion. We're not the only ones who share this passion; gamers made Guild Wars 2 the fastest-selling MMO game in the West with more than 3 million copies sold in its first 9 months, and players and press have consistently called it one of the best MMOs of all time.

Our studio is built on foundations of excellence with a focus on community. We constantly innovate, unlocking the true potential of online role-playing with game-changing titles like Guild Wars 2 and beyond. The status quo is not good enough for our dedicated worldwide community of players, which is why we question the de facto industry conventions and demand more from ourselves as developers.

We are looking for an Executive Producer to help form a dynamic duo of leadership, partnering with the game director as the ultimate owners of the business for a game. As a team, the Executive Producer and Game Director form Voltron – combining their skills and experiences in creative, business, schedule, and operations to form an unstoppable force that delivers constant wins for our players, our business, and our development team.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

You love building and growing teams! You love to work closely with the development team to help build the plan for upcoming goals while tracking progress along the way and creating mechanisms to communicate that progress to the game team and publishing leadership.

You love puzzles: the game development kind, where we’ve encountered a problem that has countless solutions and you dive in with leaders across the dev team to help illuminate the best answer for the moment. You enjoy the process of building and growing connections between teams and companies from co-development to outsourcing to console certification to ensure a game can go accomplish its production goals and get to launch.

When you start work in the morning, one of the first questions you ask is: what complicated cross-team dependency do we need to account for so our teams can iterate rapidly without distraction? You measure success based on the speed of iteration in how quickly we can test new ideas in the game. You believe the process should only exist if it helps the development team move faster and better. You believe different disciplines and teams work in different ways and help support them to work in the way that’s best for them.

You find joy in mentoring and growing both individuals and a team. You find yourself constantly exploring the problem spaces and are hungry to learn because you’re passionate about making the best darn workplace anyone has ever seen. You value an individual's ability to meaningfully contribute as a team member over their own personal deliverable skills.

If you’ve been wondering: “Why are teams making games the way they have been, we seem to be slower and less predictable than ever?”. If you’re tired of production filling the role developers on a team should be doing themselves: running development meetings, tracking progress on individual developers work, keeping track of actions discussed in meetings between developers, getting two developers to get up and talk to one another, coming up with solutions for discipline specific problems, and telling developers what to work on and when. Then we are looking for you.

This position is based out of our Bellevue, WA office. Due to COVID-19 we have temporarily transitioned to a work from home model.
