The Warcraft universe is growing! We are looking for an outstanding leader to join the World of Warcraft team as Executive Producer. The Executive Producer will oversee the World of Warcraft business and game development, helping to shape the future of our flagship MMORPG. Qualified candidates will have demonstrated game development experience, player-focused commercial orientation, and the leadership skills necessary in leading large teams and multiple projects while maintaining constant clear communication with collaborators throughout the organization.
Reporting to the General Manager of the Warcraft franchise, the position will serve as business and development lead. The EP will oversee a cross-discipline team of directors while working closely with other key leaders and collaborators across the Warcraft franchise’s development, operations, publishing, and technical teams.
Responsibilities:
Leadership
- Demonstrate a passion for building and leveling up strong teams at scale.
- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop the team to ensure growth, expand the talent base, and build a succession bench.
- Exemplify leadership and behaviors to build an inclusive and diverse culture that provides continuous feedback, support, and empowerment.
Production Management
- Outstanding knowledge of product planning and execution, with a deep understanding of game development.
- Lead all aspects of production such as project/feature development and assessment, planning and forecasting, organization and process optimization, and risk mitigation.
- Champion and maintain a creative and inclusive environment and empower our outstanding developers.
Game Growth
- Guide the evolution of development to expand communities of players worldwide.
- Develop and drive a multi-year content release plan that focuses on growth and player engagement.
- Utilize internal data, analytics, and community resources to assess game health
- Collaborate with the publishing team to drive retention, new-player acquisition, and win-back.
Requirements:
- Director-level+ experience in production, game development, business strategy, or general management.
- Demonstrated ability to grow a product or live service by continuously seeking out and pursuing new opportunities.
- A data-driven mentality, combining an understanding of our player community and market trends, and translating them into business opportunities.
- Demonstrated ability to generate innovative ideas and solve complex problems while staying true to Blizzard’s core values.
- Ability to build positive relationships, influence, and partner with both creative teams and executives to inspire change and results.
- Outstanding business judgment with a strategic and analytical approach.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to articulate complex ideas and influence others.
- A deep passion for gaming and entertainment. Experience with WoW as a player, and/or MMORPG development experience, is helpful.
- An undergraduate degree or equivalent experience is required. A graduate degree in business, entertainment, technology, or an equivalent is desirable.
