The Role

To create a workplace that invigorates and inspires our people to be their best selves. Promote Splash Damage culture and values to attract, engage and retain a diverse workforce and provide a social environment for all staff to connect with each other and create their best work. To create and manage a varied events calendar that staff can be proud of. To be the central contact in Facilities to improve company performance and employee engagement. Given the nature of this role there is likely to be evening and/or weekend work which will from time to time be required.

Responsibilities at a Glance

To plan, create and manage the Splash social and charity scene to improve morale, company cohesion and staff retention ensuring a regular timetable of events

To plan, develop, manage and deliver the major Splash Damage parties each year, along with monthly social and charity events

To take the lead on Splash Damage’s regular social and charitable events calendar by working with a variety of stakeholders

To develop ways in which Splash Damage can give back to the local community and our chosen charities and arrange events to actively promote these within the business

Work with internal teams and stakeholders to advertise and promote all social events around the studio in order to generate excitement throughout the workplace

Develop, set, work within and be accountable for an allocated budget to grow the events calendar as the company headcount increases

To ensure all employees feel like Splash Damage is a great place to work

To work closely with stakeholders to improve the overall employee experience

Actively develop, publish and regularly update local discount schemes for staff with local shops/organisations

Co-ordinate and manage the logistics of regular Splash Damage Talks and project events as well as the current bi-annual SD-Next conferences and quarterly Dev-Con events along with other business events as they arise.

Contribute to team meetings and organisational priorities

Be flexible within the broad remit of the post

Take direction on projects and priorities from your line manager, which may vary from time to time

Be proactive in keeping up to date with developments affecting your work

Managing logistics of planning and delivering events

Working with vendors, contractors and supplies to ensure successful delivery of each event

Required Skills and Experience

Minimum 3 year's experience of working in an events service function within a busy office environment preferably with Office Management experience

Experience of managing large scale company events

Experience of influencing stakeholders

Good negotiation skills to strike the best possible deals with venues and vendors

To be self-servicing with the ability to work unsupervised carrying out duties alone and taking a flexible pro-active approach to work

Be proactive in keeping up to date with developments affecting your work

Working knowledge of Health & Safety laws both on and off-site

Excellent organisation and time management skills

Awareness of building and personal security and the effects on the studio

Excellent verbal and written skills whilst addressing a wide range of audiences

Advanced IT skills in word-processing (Word), spreadsheets (Excel), e-mail (Outlook) and the Internet (Chrome)

Ability to provide appropriate services to a wide range of callers and visitors

Willingness to undertake further development and training

Be flexible within the broad remit of the post
