Events Manager

Gearbox seeks an Events Manager to be responsible for the direction, production, and management of its internal and external events. This leader will engage, supervise, and motivate a matrix of stakeholders, including Gearbox team members, vendors, and partners.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, plan, and executive experiences that reflect the Gearbox brand and vision, engaging our customers, community, and partners.
- Manage resources, external support agencies, and contractors to host high-quality events;
- Negotiate contracts with vendors and business partners with support from Gearbox’s Legal and Communications team leadership;
- Work with Communications, Marketing, and other internal stakeholders to set goals, define metrics, and ensure these are align with Gearbox’s business, communications, and marketing goals;
- Staff events and assist with set-up/tear down. Some travel, including nights and weekends may be required.
Qualifications:
- Qualified candidates will possess five to seven years directing conferences and events;
- An understanding and working knowledge of video games and video game communities;
- Experience developing and managing event budgets;
- Superior project management skills;
- Strong communications skills;
- Comfort with communicating ideas, projects, and plans to a wide range of levels and leadership; and,
- Value and understand the importance of collaboration, empathy, teamwork, and humor.
