We are seeking an Esports League Operations Manager who will join the North America Esports Department in Santa Monica, California. We are looking for humble but ambitious, solution-oriented professionals who are decisive and are not afraid to experiment. The North America Esports League Operations Manager will be a key player in developing and managing esports programs, defining the PUBG Esports ecosystem, and elevating the program to the next level. Reporting to the North America Head of Esports, you will support all aspects of competition. You will work closely with external partners and vendors to construct tournament formats and oversee match operations.
Responsibilities
- Maintain an esports ecosystem with unwavering integrity, transparency, and efficiency
- Uphold tournament integrity through consistent, thoughtful decision making and clear outbound communications, which includes but is not limited to, resolving competitor disputes, and providing insights to spectators
- Manage the tournament operations of online and live events by streamlining workflows and establishing best practices
- Supervise all competitive aspects of regional esports events including match logistics, refereeing, and player support
- Construct esports tournament formats, schedules, qualifiers, seeding structures, and rules
- Enforce regulations, policies, and rules for all regional esports tournaments, including officially sanctioned third party events
- Oversee the development of tournament rulebooks, code of conduct, and player discipline
- Issue and track league ops issues, including code of conduct and rulebook infractions along with associated penalties
- Propose improvements to regulations, policies, and rules for regional and global events by collecting internal and external feedback
- Write and publish league rulings and communicate rulings with players
- Organize and maintain team and player database with basic information
- Manage participation documentation including collection and handling of eligibility forms, team contracts, and player documentation
- Supply tournament, team, and player information and assets for marketing, web, social media, and broadcast functions, and ensure accuracy
- Provide service and training to internal and external operators of sanctioned tournaments
- Other duties, as assigned
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of esports league operations experience
- Deep knowledge of the esports industry and esports league operations topics
- Advanced understanding of the components of online and offline tournaments
- Ability to resolve disputes and make rulings in high-pressure situations
- Ability to succinctly articulate complex scenarios in a concise manner
- Sharp attention to detail and meticulous organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to create, organize, prioritize, and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite
- Evident skills in negotiation and conflict resolution
- Ability to work on call and work weekends
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally for extended periods of time
