Environment Artist

We are looking for someone like you to become our all-new Environment Artist and join our passionate and talented Environment Art team, where we are building on the years of success that Rebellion has enjoyed.

Environment Artist role:

The Environment Artist is a new role dedicated to creating environments in tight collaboration with Level Designers. You will assist in planning out the space, with consideration for the narrative and visual story telling of the game and create functional assets, which can be used across the game. As part of the Environment Art team, you will play a key role in ensuring the artistic quality of the game.

This role would suit an experienced Environment Artist with knowledge of 3D software such as Max, Maya and Blender and sculpting packages such as Zbrush or Mudbox.

The Rebellion Environment Art team spends their time bringing environments to life with atmosphere and characters.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning out the space, with consideration of narrative and visual storytelling, while documenting intentions
• Create environments in tight collaborations with Level Designers
• Create functional assets which can be shared across the project
• Apply best practices, production pipelines and workflows into work
• Support the Lead Artist in any ad hoc tasks and duties

Requirements

• Knowledge 3D software such as 3D Studio Max, Maya and Blender
• Knowledge 3D sculpting packages such as Zbrush or Mudbox
• Knowledge of modelling processes hi-res sculpting, baking textures and material/shader setup in realtime render engine
• Knowledge of PBR material pipeline/substance
• Knowledge of Photoshop or other 2D packages
• Able to develop resolutions to problems
• Able to effectively communicate information, whilst building long-term, trusting relationships with a wide range of people
