Position Summary
Come be a part of the future of Tomb Raider! Crystal Dynamics is looking for a skilled Environment Artist that has achieved excellence in environment modeling, texturing and lighting! In this role you will work with amazing Art Directors, Lead Artists and Designers to create stunning and dynamic 3D environments for our games. We're seeking highly collaborative, passionate, and motivated artists who will help define gaming for new generations of players.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Contribute to the artistic execution of the environments in the game
- Shape the experiences and areas of the game from start to finish collaborating with Design, Concept, and Technical Art disciplines
- Conceptualize and execute ideas within a schedule, while actively participating in technical and artistic problem solving
- Use custom toolsets to deliver environments and assets within the confines of real-time engine constraints
- Other duties as assigned
Essential Requirements
- 2+ years of experience working on 3d environments for real-time games
- Portfolio that showcases a keen-eye for making the art look realistic
- Experience and specialization in one or more of the following areas:
- Compositional skills that can tell a narrative through environmental set dressing and/or lighting
- High resolution hard surface modeling in Modo, Blender and/or Zbrush
- High fidelity, PBR materials and surfaces in Substance Designer/Painter and/or Quixel
- Maya and photoshop experience is a must
- Other preferred skills include Houdini and Photogrammetry software
- Traditional Art backgrounds are also a plus
