Environment Art Manager

Obsidian Entertainment is looking for an Environment Art Manager to join us in crafting our next high-profile role-playing game.

This Environment Art Manager will support the growth and development of artists on the team. Responsibilities include handling artists' resourcing, one-on-ones, mental health, and reviews. The ideal candidate needs to have an established track record of managing teams, extraordinary communication, and social skills with a thorough understanding of art department dynamics.

This position requires the ability to work onsite or in a hybrid capacity at the Obsidian Entertainment office in Irvine, CA.

Responsibilities

• Work with the art director and art leads to manage individuals across the art department
• Work closely with the Lead Environment Artist to provide feedback and guidance on the work of the environment artists
• Manage artist career paths within the project's art team
• Conduct regular one-on-ones with art department leadership and artists
• Design and implement standard processes around staffing, interviewing, onboarding, and career development

Requirements

• 3+ years management experience
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Able to handle a wide range of personnel issues from career development to conflict resolution
• Able to manage a large team of environment artists throughout the course of production
• Shipped at least one game in any discipline

• Experience as an Environment Artist individual contributor
• Able to produce and maintain clear and concise documentation
• A natural curiosity to learn new ideas and processes
• Has finished playing many RPGs

The estimated base pay range for this role is:

• $110,000 - $140,000 per year
