Env. Artist Modeler

Amazon Games is looking for an exceptionally skilled Environment Artist Modeler to join our New World team in sunny Irvine, CA or beautiful Seattle, WA. In New World, players will fight for survival as they explore and conquer the mysterious island of Aeternum. In this role, you will work alongside a vibrant community of developers and game-lovers as we all work to share this ambitious game with the world. You will be helping to craft and create our worlds. You will need to combine a strong aesthetic sense of visually interesting spaces with a solid understanding of asset creation and artistic development.

· Create beautiful, detailed art used to build our exciting game play spaces
· Construct modular kits used to design epic battles - or heroic homesteads
· Digitally sculpt organic shapes to showcase the beauty hidden in Aeternum
· Work with the art team to ensure artistic unity with the entire project.
· Excel at consistent aesthetic and technical quality throughout the asset pipeline.
· Optimize assets and textures for performance and memory.

Basic Qualifications

· 5+ years of experience in the game industry with at least 1 shipped AAA title or equivalent work in a related field.
· 5+ years of experience with 3d asset creation for games utilizing 3ds Max or Maya
· Portfolio demonstrating experience with organic sculpting in zBrush or Mudbox
· Portfolio that shows outstanding modeling skill (High-to-low workflow, exceptional baking, etc.), examples of 3d modular environment construction and trim-sheet usage and examples of work rendered within a game engine such as Unreal, CryEngine, or Unity

Preferred Qualifications

· Bachelor’s Degree in Art or in related field
· Highly proficient in Substance and Photoshop, and comfortable with the PBR shader pipeline
· Portfolio that shows trim sheet build and usage in game engine
· Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principle requirements for this role.
· Meets/exceeds Amazon’s functional/technical depth and complexity for this role.
