Solutions Architect (Enterprise Applications)

Riot's Enterprise Technology organization ensures Rioters have what they need to unlock their full potential by providing expertise on cybersecurity to protect the experience of millions of players, offering corporate solutions to increase productivity and guide teams on complex data privacy regulations. The Architecture team has the core mission to identify and tackle technical bottlenecks to increase business agility of Riot’s corporate functions (HR, Finance, Legal etc) and processes.
That’s where you come in.
You’ll be part of a new team focused on enabling corporate functions to better leverage technology solutions in partnership with application teams. In addition to providing technology guidance, reference architectures, and best practices, you have the intellectual curiosity and technical ability to dive deep into corporate systems/processes and work with business owners and application teams to assess the current state, propose solutions and implement changes.
With focus on delivering business outcomes, the work will be a mix of strategic thinking and hands-on technical work involving software selections, architecture and process documentation, tech assessments, automation of repetitive tasks, implementation of system integrations etc. The role will report to the Senior Manager of Enterprise Architecture.
Responsibilities:
- Assess the current tech capabilities and processes, conduct gap analysis and translate future-state business capabilities and requirements into solution architecture requirements.
- Build the library of reference architectures and good practices in collaboration with application teams, IT and Information Security.
- Support software selections in partnership with application teams with unbiased perspective for specific technology or vendor choice, looking for the expected business outcomes.
- Understand our portfolio of tools and how to best leverage them for each use case.
- Build proposals, strategies and roadmaps that balance the short term quick wins with the long-term aspirations in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Articulate new ideas and concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences
- Be a trusted and respected thought leader who can influence and persuade business and technology teams.
- Explore emergent technologies and translate their value propositions into opportunities to deliver business value
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related study, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in at least two IT solution development disciplines with focus on application development and system integration.
- Experience selecting, implementing and supporting off-the-shelf solutions and integrations in core corporate functions including HR, Finance, Legal (Workday, Oracle, Coupa, Concur etc).
- Familiarity with common enterprise foundational services/capabilities (Active Directory, Okta, AWS, networking) and enterprise/IT/business architecture frameworks (Zachman, TOGAF, FEAF etc.).
- Good understanding of strategic and emerging technology trends, and the practical application of existing and emerging technologies to new and evolving business and operating models.
- Experience developing reference architecture, integration blueprints, strategies, and roadmaps.
- Knowledge of various backend development languages like Go and Python.
- Good understanding of agile principles, software development and testing methodologies (waterfall, Scrum, rapid prototyping, XP, DevOps).
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with integration, automation, process mining and enterprise architecture solutions such as Workato, Celonis, UIPath, Ardoq (or similar).
- Experience leading business process mining and automation efforts.
- Experience proposing and estimating the financial impact of solution architecture alternatives.
- Experience in regulated industries and compliance related projects.

(Los Angeles office only) Base salary range between $124,900 - $175,600 + incentive compensation + equity + 401K with company match + medical, dental, vision, and life insurance + short and long-term disability + open PTO.
