Engineering Manager, Payments

We’re looking for exceptional leaders with a passion for technology and the ability to work with a diverse team. The Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading a team of software engineers to design, develop and maintain Zynga’s core Payments platform, which enables seamless integration with app stores and payments processing providers.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Directly manage and lead a team of software engineers working on Zynga’s core Payments technology platform
  • Lead by example to help design, architect, implement and review code changes
  • Use monitoring tools and on-call procedures to reliably operate existing live services and leverage metrics to track improvements over time
  • Enable the team to succeed by identifying gaps, improving engineering process and providing growth opportunities
  • Handle career progression and implement development plans that keep individuals motivated and engaged
  • Collaborate closely with other technical leaders in Central Technology and across disciplines to drive best practices and positive team culture

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • B.S. in Computer Science, or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience directly managing teams of software engineers
  • 6+ years of prior hands-on software development experience
  • Familiarity with multiple programming languages and platforms (Java, C#, C++ and/or Go)
  • Solid understanding of standard methodologies for engineering process, code quality, build/release pipelines, security and live operations
  • Familiarity with agile development methods and tools
  • Familiarity with Compliance / Regulatory requirements a plus
  • Experience with iOS, Android, Unity or Unreal a plus
  • Experience with cloud technologies (VMs, Kubernetes, serverless, etc.) a plus
  • Proven track record to empower teams, mentor individuals and operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
