Engineering Manager, SpeedTree

The opportunity

SpeedTree has been in business for more than 20 years and has been used in numerous games and films. As part of Unity's world building organization, we have the opportunity to build our vision of delivering world-class vegetation solutions to as many creators as possible, and we're looking for someone to help us realize this vision.

As the Engineering Manager on SpeedTree you'll help the team continue to build on their years of success while also developing new, innovative, approaches to building realistic vegetation. What you’ll be doing

• Help guide team development efforts towards successful project delivery
• Help define, and build, the future of SpeedTree as well as a best-in-class integration with Unity
• Balance your time between being a force multiplier for your team and working directly on code
• Unblock obstacles, collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to empower your team to do their best work
• Build, coach, and mentor a healthy engineering team

What we’re looking for

• Experience in a technical leadership position directly managing several reports
• Prior experience working on game tools or engines
• Solid C# and C++, data-driven design, and architecture skills
• Ability to mentor and coach team members, lead by example, and build relationships of trust with partners

• Experience working with digital content creation tools
• Experience with Unity
