Engineering Manager - Frostbite

Frostbite is EA's state-of-the-art multi-platform game development engine, powering games such as Battlefield, FIFA, Madden, Plants vs. Zombies, Need for Speed, Anthem, and Star Wars Battlefront II.
We are looking for a Software Engineering Manager for the Core Systems Product Area of Frostbite.
The mission of the Core Systems team is to develop state-of-the-art Frostbite core tools and workflows to help the bigger Frostbite team and game teams around the world build bigger and better games.
What you will do as a Frostbite Core Systems Software Engineering Manager
Reporting to the Sr. Engineering Manager leading the Editor and Objects domain of the Core Systems Product Area, you will manage about 7 software engineers in the Objects team.
Responsibilities
- Hiring manager - You hire the right talent and onboard new team members
- Software Engineering Leader - You know how to develop quality software and know if the current plan/work is on track.
- You collaborate with partner teams across the globe.
- You know how to get the best out of a diverse team of people even when delivery pressure is high.
- You lead your team to accomplish agreed upon commitments including features and performance measures
- You coach and grow individuals by providing positive and constructive feedback that matters
- You coach the team to increase collaboration, code quality, and best practices
- You create a learning culture to grow the team's ability to sustainable achieve the teams goals
- You monitor workload and coach team members on handling stress
- You recognize efforts that contribute to the team and the business
We're looking for
- Recent experience in C++ or C# development
- 2+ years leading software teams
- Understanding of different models of software development lifecycles
- Good knowledge of collaborative tools such as the Atlassian toolchain
- Servant leader understanding the value of a healthy work environment
- Ability to multitask, navigate uncertainty, comfortable with change.
Professional interactions expected
- Report to the Senior Engineering Manager of the Editor and Objects domain in Core Systems
- Collaborate with two peers Engineering Managers into developing an inclusive team culture.
- Work with the TDs to ensure that production work has a design and that any local and global architecture effects are understood.
- Work with QV to ensure that we have a clear testing strategy for all current and developing technology, including a clear understanding of benchmarking, code coverage and working together on root cause analysis.
- Work with the Program & Product management team to help build solid plans for the next iteration and track the progress of commitments for this quarter
- Manage directly Individual Contributors
