Engineering Manager - Frostbite User Interface Systems

Frostbite is EA's state-of-the-art, multi-platform game development engine, powering games such as Battlefield, FIFA, Madden, Plants vs. Zombies, Need for Speed, Anthem, and Star Wars Battlefront II. The mission of the UI team is to develop tools, workflows, and runtime features that empower in-game UI creators to accomplish their vision.

What you will do:

• Report to the existing UI Engineering Manager and work with the UI leadership team helping us to empower and grow the team, prioritize work, remove barriers, and set team goals
• You will hire, onboard, and coach team members with an emphasis on career growth
• Align recognition with the performance of the team members
• You will promote collaboration, code quality, and best practices
• Create a learning culture to grow the team's ability to sustainably achieve the team goals
• You understand diversity empowers teams and you foster an inclusive environment where all opinions are heard
• You will identify the resource requirements to meet goals and guide team planning
• Bring new value using Agile development practices in a distributed development environment
• Work with leadership to manage development work, monitor workload, and communicate progress against commitments
• Create and help implement process and engineering practices improvements for the team

Who you are:

• You have 5 years of hands-on experience developing software in an Agile environment
• You have 2 or more years leading software teams
• You have experience managing engineers as direct reports
• You have demonstrated a servant leadership mindset in your teams
• You are familiar with different models of software development life cycles
• You have used and promoted CI/CD pipelines and proper testing processes
• You have experience with Agile project management methodologies
• You might even have experience with C++ and UI development which is beneficial
