Schell Games is a highly talented group of artists, programmers, producers, and game designers led by game industry veteran Jesse Schell. We're the largest full-service education and entertainment game development company in the United States. Since 2002, we've worked with world-class clients and partners to create interactive experiences that engage and inspire players of all ages across all platforms. Presently, we are focused on virtual reality, augmented reality, location-based experiences, and social games.

Schell Games offers for-credit and paid internships, along with co-op positions. These positions are a great way to get real-world experience in the games industry & build your portfolio. You will get hands-on experience working on actual projects with the members of our studio.

ENGINEERING INTERNSHIP

With expertise in all areas of game programming, our engineers are adept at writing code from scratch as well as working with middleware and existing tools. Our flexibility allows us to partner with our clients to determine the best technology plan that enables the successful execution of each project.

We are always on the lookout for experienced, talented programmers. You will work closely with other programmers, designers, and artists to bring various game features to life. Our goal is to deliver the best game experiences possible within our time and budget constraints. Our environment is highly iterative, gameplay features are refined over the development cycle in response to internal and external playtesting. Requirements:

  • Passionate about games and game programming
  • Good working knowledge of C/C++, C#
  • Unity3d or UE4 experience
  • High-quality standard for personal code
  • Basic understanding of algorithms, performance, and optimization
  • Excellent documentation skills
  • Experience working in a team environment and excellent communication skills

Desired Skills:

  • VR/AR
  • Developing networked multiplayer experiences
  • Tool creation
  • A passion for graphics optimization

Educational background:

  • BS (or higher) in Computer Science or similar discipline (Physics, Math, EE, etc.)
  • Must be a currently enrolled student to qualify
