Engineering Build Planner and Materials Coordinator

Job Description
Magic Leap is seeking an Engineering Build Planner with strong organizational skills to help manage the end to end build cycle for the Electrical Engineer department. The Engineer Build Planner will focus on product development, new product introductions, part qualification, material planning, part procurement, build scheduling, build of material management and development of engineering to manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities:
- Develops a plan for engineering prototype and new products that includes: schedule analysis, critical path analysis, manufacturing & component lead times and issue identification
- Ability to anticipate planning/scheduling issues, and rapidly address build delays and material shortages. Communicates and acts upon finding issue resolution.
- Ability to manage multiple Build of Materials across Magic Leap’s products, generate ECNs (Engineering Change notice) and communicate changes to cross-functional teams as required.
- Develops and maintains communication channels between various departments to maintain the flow of materials between contract manufacturers, vendors, and Magic Leap.
- Ability to research and source critical components to fill shortages to prevent delays.
- Initiates purchase orders for parts, services and/or special tools.
- Supports the Supplier Quality team by managing part qualification and components life-cycle.
- Drives improvements in the overall process efficiencies and communications to key stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years’ experience as a Planner/Buyer in an electro/mechanical manufacturing environment preferred, but not required.
- Experience working with ERP systems. SAP, & Windchill preferred
- High-level expertise in Excel and Google docs
Education:
- BS or BA in Business, Supply Chain Management
