Job Description
As the Engine Programmer, you will be at the forefront of integrating and optimising Unreal Engine in our studio's game titles. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that our games meet the highest standards of performance and visual quality.
- Collaborate closely with engineering and content creation teams to implement and optimise features in Unreal Engine.
- Ensure optimal usage of Unreal Engine, its editor, and components by game teams, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Optimise the performance of Unreal Engine components in both C++ and Blueprints to achieve the best possible game performance.
- Implement cutting-edge rendering features of Unreal Engine in game titles developed by the Brisbane studio, ensuring they meet and exceed quality standards.
- Coordinate with the engine team and technical leads to communicate required features and share best practices.
- Work closely with game development teams to integrate Unreal Engine features seamlessly into studio games, providing technical solutions and troubleshooting assistance.
- Provide flexible support to team members during critical development stages, ensuring project milestones are met on time.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated proficiency in C++ and game engines, preferably Unreal Engine, with a deep understanding of software development principles and best practices.
- Extensive experience in implementing and optimising rendering techniques, including shader development, lighting, and post-processing effects.
- Solid experience in Python scripting for automation, tool development, and workflow optimisation in game development environments.
- Proactive attitude towards fostering collaboration and helping team members achieve their goals efficiently.
- Meticulous attention to detail in optimising engine performance, debugging, and ensuring the highest quality standards in game development.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
