Electrical Engineering Tech - Contractor

Job Description

With guidance from the Systems Engineering Team, develops electrical wiring, schematics, documentation and parts ordering for new/un-developed/conceptual equipment. Builds assemblies and wires; installs and routes cables and; tests aforementioned equipment. Builds and maintains test stands and platforms as requested. Maintains organized and safe work area. Assists in hands-on troubleshooting during initial system bring-up.

Responsibilities

1. Intricately involved with design of electrical equipment
2. Takes lead and manages design of aforementioned equipment
3. Works from test procedures, electro/mechanical schematics, diagrams, written and/or verbal descriptions, and layouts to perform testing, checkout, and troubleshooting functions
4. Performs mechanical, electrical, and repair/rework tasks on subassemblies
5. Responsible for writing technical reports and test procedures
6. Performs operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment
7. Determines methods or actions to remedy malfunctions
8. Responsible for purchasing parts and communicating with design team to update BoM’s

Qualifications

• Education: Associates Degree or equivalent in relevant field, preferred.
• Experience: 5+ years related work experience
• Required Skills:
• May be required to work with systems with little or no formally released documentation.
• Requires strong skills in change management, problem solving, communication, customer orientation, personal effectiveness, team skills, and quality
• Proficient with programming/mapping motion control and I/O (RIO, Galil)
• Must be capable of creating and red-lining engineering drawings (ex, Altium)
• Strong organization of documentation, file folders and physical lab space
• Proficiency with DMMs, oscilloscopes, variable power supplies
