ABOUT MEGAZEBRA
At MegaZebra we have successfully crafted category-leading games for more than 10 years. We develop our own original titles, and develop games based on “Hollywood”-IP such as Desperate Housewives - The Game. By combining technology, game-design, art, analytics, and bringing together passionate people from around the globe we have repeatedly been able to produce hit games. We are based in Munich/Germany and Montréal/Canada.
We develop all our games in small and vibrant teams. Each team has a high degree of responsibility and creative freedom for their game and is committed to creating something outstanding. For our studio in the heart of Montréal’s gaming scene, we are now looking for an experienced Economy Game Designer.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Flesh out the key mechanics, core loops, sinks, faucets, and metalayers of our titles, describing them and their interactions in clear (and quantitative) detail
- Responsible for mapping and balancing the in-game economy. Work with game-designers to translate game-designs into a strong system-design and game-economy
- Quantitavely design and balance the progression loops and difficulty progression
- Transform high-level ideas into detailed and well thought-out concepts, executing their implementation from top to bottom
- Work with analytics to improve user-flow and monetization in the game. Work with our analytics team to set up A/B-tests
- Generally contribute to the overall design of game mechanics, contents, and interfaces
YOUR PROFILE
- Strong quantitative skills and you are highly analytical
- Understanding of why F2P titles (both mobile and Facebook) engage and monetize, and knowledge how to accomplish both through your own designs without being evil
- Extensive experience with F2P design and development, ability to quickly deconstruct a title’s key systems and economy flows, and in-depth understanding of the industry
- Extensive experience with Excel, e.g. creation of interconnected formulas
- 2+ years of working experience as a System Designer or at least experience on 2 delivered, casual cross-platform games
- Alternatively a degree in Economics or Mathematics with an avid interest in video-games and how they work
- Always up-to-date on the latest developments and smash hits of the mobile and Facebook landscapes, and take time to understand why some titles succeed and other fail
- You love working with talented people to make great games, encourage criticism and feedback, and enjoy the iterative process of game development
