Game Designer (Economy)

As a Game Designer for Guild of Guardians, you will have the opportunity to define how digital ownership enhances the player experience. You will work on features and game-play mechanics that motivate players to play, earn, and trade within an open economy.

Your primary focus is designing new features and tweaking existing designs in ways that create meaningful games that are first and foremost fun. You will have the opportunity to work on one of the most anticipated games in the blockchain space, and help shape the playbook for future web3 game design.

This is an awesome opportunity as you will have support from a diverse team that is truly passionate about the blockchain space. We are looking for game designers that have great ideas for a deep and strategic metagame, combined with collaborative and social gameplay.

You will have the opportunity to:

• Balance and tune existing values to meet the macro design goals
• Design new features and systems that fulfil our design pillars
• Monitor the on-going health of the game and propose interventions to mitigate key risks
• Ideate: Combine the best of F2P/traditional gaming with web3 principles of decentralisation, self-governance, and ownership

We would love you to have:

• Prior experience in shipping at least 1 game while working in Design or Quality Assurance
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in Game Design, Economy Design, LiveOps, or Quality Assurance
• Tertiary qualifications in Economic, Computer-Science, Maths, Statistics, or other Quantitative disciplines

Some extra skills that would be awesome:

• Proficiency in common and open-source analysis tools such as Machinations, python, R, SQL, Excel, etc.
• Start-up/scale-up experience
• Crypto-native: Experience with other web 3.0 games or projects
• Personal projects or portfolios in relevant areas
• Prior RPG and live-operations experience

Guild of Guardians (GOG) is a multiplayer, fantasy, action, mobile RPG where you would build dream teams of Guardians to conquer and complete dungeons to earn epic rewards.
