Economy Designer, Evermerge

Summary

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

• Design and balance the economic systems of the game according to data and desired players' behavior.
• Present design ideas and configuration that improve long-term player retention, and provide more monetization levers
• Build simulations and predictive models to forecast the results of changes in configurations or content.
• Monitor and investigate micro and macro player balances to ensure the overall health of the game’s economy
• Create different experiences for different type of players
• Manage the pricing of in-game goods; balance between free content vs. paid currency in the game economy
• Plan A/B testing plans and analyze their effectiveness
• Collaborate closely with product, data scientists and live operations teams
• Diplomatically manage relationships with development partners and help to assess their strengths and weaknesses
• Take into account information from research groups, such as data scientists and player insights teams when building your designs.

Qualifications

Skills and Abilities:

• 5+ years of Game Design experience
• 3+ years of mobile game/free-to-play experience
• Have worked on at least one live game
• Eloquent - You have stellar verbal and written communication powers. You can explain accurately to a variety of audiences how your designs function.
• Flexible - You make game features that both satisfy players’ emotional needs and use player motivations to drive player behavior.
• Crafty - Your designs both provide a delightful experience for players and have elements that allow for business support.
• Diplomatic - You know how to advocate for game designs. You have knowledge of which aspects of a design can be let go of during design negotiation and which aspects should be firmly included.
• Egoless - You are comfortable with letting go of your personal preferences when they differ from the needs of the players, the game, and/or the business.
• Efficient - Your designs respect your and the team’s capabilities, and are implementable within the timeframes given by producers.
