Your Role within our Kingdom:

Are you ready to shake things up and bring an innovative new UX approach to our #1 mobile game, Candy Crush Saga? Your mission will be to innovate and elevate the player experience of Candy Crush, develop and champion the vision and strategy, and inspire the talented team of UX Designers.
• As someone who coaches large teams towards excellence, you will have an unwavering focus on the product; A deep UX craft expertise, an enviable knack for communicating with leaders from every craft, and the ability to drive the product’s UX vision in a highly strategic and tactical way.
• You’ll collaborate closely with UX Researchers, ensuring that sound qualitative and quantitative data is incorporated intelligently into decision- making processes..
• You’ll work with the design leads to bring design processes to new heights and represent the voice of our players across the entire game team. You’ll also partner with the Associate UX Craft Development Director to ensure that all UX Designers are growing their skill sets and are being appropriately allocated based on their strengths and experience.
• In addition to mentoring and guiding the UX and UI designers on the team to ensure the highest- quality deliverables, you’ll also advise product leads and business owners in the area of UX strategy. As the fiercest advocate for UX on Candy Crush, you’ll collaborate closely with producers, game designers, developers, business performance, UX labs, player insights and marketing to solve problems and delight our players collectively.

• Finally, you’ll also look after the UX craft on a global scale at King - you’ll own the UX career path and roles and responsibilities as well as global craft meetings and events.

In the role of UX Director, you will be able to demonstrate the following set of skills:
• You can create, evolve and execute a vision and have an excellent eye for what
world- leading games look like.
• With creativity and a true passion for games, you bring years of relevant UX design
work, leadership, and collaborative experiences from the casual mobile games
industry.
• You understand what a great design team looks like and can lead them to excel, ensuring that assignments are appropriately matched to UX designers’ skill sets and strengths.
• “Players First” is your motto, and you continuously help the games teams to learn more about our player's behaviors and experiences.
• You thrive in environments of occasional chaos and are comfortable with ambiguity.
• You can work with very large teams and juggle multiple feature development
projects at once while occasionally making tough decisions about which projects get prioritized for design resources, UX research scheduling, and your valuable consultation time.
• You deeply value UX Research and understand how to work with UX Researchers to get the most value out of qualitative research regardless of time constraints.

• You have a proven track record of directing high quality, complex UI art and
animation, including gameplay assets, from concept to in- game.
• You bring in- depth experience in defining and applying appropriate user- centered design processes and methodologies, depending on project needs.
• You display meticulous attention to detail and creative thinking to elevate the quality and efficiency surrounding style guides, design documentation, pattern libraries, etc.
• Your communication skills are excellent - you can assist others to understand the value of a great user experience, regardless of their background.
• You have very strong organizational skills - you feel at home with project planning.
• You evangelize UX across the entire Candy Crush team, proactively and
continuously assessing the game’s needs and driving initiatives.
• You have knowledge of technical constraints, optimizations and the implementation of content.
