Director of Talent, (Employee Relations)

Job Description

As Ubisoft Montreal’s Director of Talent, you’ll ensure a respectful, safe and inclusive work environment for all Canadian studio employees by standardizing and strengthening our employee relations practices.

Reporting to the Montreal studio’s Vice President of Talent and working in tandem with our Global Vice President of Employee Relations, you’ll create and execute programs at scale, plus drive significant, sustainable improvements in the Ubisoft employee experience.

An expert in conflict prevention, resolution, and mediation with a penchant for organizational transformation, you’ll focus your efforts on preventing and resolving matters of harassment and discrimination, respect and civility in the workplace, and any other issues or misunderstandings to positively shape our environment permanently.



What you’ll do

In a role focused on conflict prevention, resolution, mediation, and knowledge sharing, you’ll:

• Develop, optimize, and harmonize programs and policies across our Canadian studios (Montreal, Quebec, Toronto, Halifax, Winnipeg, and Saguenay) + play a leadership rolein the implementation and management of new employee-centric processes.
  
• Guide employee relations Canada-wide initiatives aligned with global initiatives.
  
• Design and deliver training sessions to boost awareness and build a team of subject matter experts in mediation, conflict resolution, and internal investigations + oversee external experts when need be.
  
• Intervene to handle employee relations situations, resolving conflicts through dispute resolution processes and defusing emotionally charged situations to reach lasting agreements.
  
• Define metrics to track and assess the evolution of Ubisoft’s work environment, identify trends and gaps + recommend solutions and put plans in place to mitigate risks.
  
• Provide strategic advice to the managing directors and Talent leaders of our Canadian studios, giving an informed perspective on employee relations best practices.
  
• Cultivate a collaborative and constructive partnership between Corporate HQ and the Canadian studios to share information and positively lead change in creating a respectful, safe, and inclusive environment.
  
• Work closely with Talent and Communications teams, our D&I director, production leaders, and department heads.

Qualifications

What you bring

• Around 7 years of experience in employee or labour relations, crisis management, and conflict resolution
• Experience running investigations, performing risk analysis, and providing expert interventions related to workplace conflict (like mediation, facilitated conversations, and group interventions)
• Advanced French and English communication skills (verbal and written) + the ability to build strong and trustful relationships with a variety of stakeholders
• An undergraduate degree in Industrial Relations, Human Resources, Law, or equivalent
• Professional certification in Dispute Prevention & Resolution (DPR), Informal Conflict Management System (ICMS), mediation, or equivalent certification (or equivalent combination of training and experience)
• Critical thinking capabilities (especially in evaluating and optimizing practices)
• The capacity to lead discussions, deliver presentations, and speak in public to conduct awareness, training sessions, and group interventions
• An inclusive, influential, and inspiring leadership style that allows you to rally people together toward common goals
