Sony Interactive Entertainment / PlayStation (SIE) seeks experienced, passionate philanthropy professional to develop strategies to extend social impact programs and activities - including key advocacy initiatives - in meaningful and measurable ways. The Director of Social Impact will seek opportunities that foster positive relationships with local, national, and international nonprofit organizations to bring unique and innovative partnerships and programs while maintaining a diverse and sustainable portfolio to support SIE’s social justice and DE&I initiatives. This position will build and effectively manage the organization’s social justice portfolio, partnerships, and communications plan to build a consistent brand and develop and strengthen relationships with internal and external key partners.
The right candidate will be responsible for managing and advancing strategies that help to extend philanthropic programs and activities including key advocacy initiatives across SIE’s global network. You will also support the Global Head of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, and the Employee Networks (eNets) as it relates to advisement on charitable initiatives reflecting Sony Interactive Entertainment’s existing commitment to corporate giving. This role will report directly to the Global Head of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion.
What you'll do:
- Manage a new Social Justice portfolio of $11M, developing strategy that delivers max return on investment for well-defined philanthropic goals, driving alignment with Sony Group companies (Movies, Music, Electronics) while creating a distinctive presence in SIE’s gaming community.
- Collaborate with the Global Social Justice Governance Committee to develop and execute partnership agreements.
- Manage initiatives focused on SIE's commitment to supporting social justice and race equity initiatives through philanthropic endeavors.
- Coordinate with HR, HR & Corporate Communications, Government Affairs team on local and global projects and advocacy efforts.
- Manage relationships with organizations that reach out for funding or are recommended for funding, communicate partner updates, track investments.
- Manage internal and external partners to support additional key initiatives in city or state that deepen relationships and impact within the community.
- Additional work will focus on the coordination and execution of an integrated communication plan to support and amplify One Sony Social Justice efforts.
- A typical day/week will include performing work in support of a portfolio of clients and community investments.
Who will you work with:
You will work on Sony Interactive Entertainment / PlayStation’s Global Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Team. In addition to this team you will work closely with HR & Corporate Communications, CSR, PR, Branding, Marketing, HR, Legal, Government/Public Affairs, and the One Sony CSR and Philanthropy & Social Impact teams to align, steward, and support investments.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Fifteen plus years of experience as a Philanthropy or Social Impact or Corporate Social Responsibility leader.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Philanthropy or Social Impact, Corporate Social Responsibility, or related field.
- Experience in change management is a plus.
- Experience with project management, delivering results in a cross-functional, global, collaborative environment is a must.
- High-level partners and/or portfolio management experience across a few of the following sectors: diversity, nonprofit, education, or youth development.
- Must possesses excellent presentation skills and have strong communication skills (written and interpersonal) including the ability for widespread communication planning and delivery of clear messages to the organization, including senior leaders to help build and sustain awareness and engagement to bring the philanthropy and social impact strategy to life.
- Corporate Partnerships – The ability to manage and maximize strategic internal and external partnerships and networks to maximize the achievement of the business goals.
- Representing the Company - The ability to establish, maintain, and manage relationships with key individuals/groups/clients and understand that others view you as the spokesperson or representative of the company. This includes the ability to present the company’s perspective to various external organizations.
- Ability to travel domestically/internationally when needed.
