Founded in 1999, the company first launched Second Life, the groundbreaking virtual world enjoyed by millions around the globe, in 2003, which has since gone on to boast nearly two billion user creations and a vibrant $500 million (USD) economy.
Tilia Inc. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Linden Research, Inc., and a licensed money transmitter in the U.S. Tilia enables publishers of video games and virtual worlds to create in-world economies and monetize user interaction. Tilia UK is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tilia Inc. and is applying to the FCA to become authorized as an electronic money institution in order to provide certain payment services activities to customers in the UK.
Primary Functions
The Business Operations Manager - Tilia UK will act as mission control for our UK office space and the team occupying it.
This position will:
- Develop, direct and drive the overall business operations for Tilia UK.
- Define & manage operational business strategies, particularly with respect to a licensed and regulated financial services company.
- Maintain clear, concise scopes of work and other documentation, including budgets and key performance indicators.
- Manage a wide variety of projects and initiatives as needed; define and prioritize deliverables and manage project timelines.
This role will interact with the entire UK team to help deliver high quality service in an efficient and personable manner.
Responsibilities
- Respond to regulatory and bank inquiries as well as general questions about the business operations of the UK entity.
- Make critical-business decisions. Implement business programs and back up decisions using advanced analysis and insights.
- Provide support, analysis, studies and presentations for leadership.
- Communicate recommendations in a concise and impactful way.
- Appreciate the regulatory requirements and related business implications of a regulated financial services entity.

Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent academic training and experience.
Experience
- 5+ years business operations management experience, preferably in a fintech or financial services company.
