Linden Lab is looking for an experienced Director of Finance to join it’s growing team. The Director of Finance will assume management of the company's financial performance, including accounting, financial planning, forecasting, cash flow management, tax compliance, job costing, ROI analysis on spending, metric tracking. They will serve as a cross functional finance business partner, manage a team of five, and report directly to the CFO.
Primary Functions
Manage the day to day operations of the finance department; provide leadership and mentorship to the entire team.
Responsibilities
- Manage a 5-person finance and accounting team, including the Controller, Senior Manager of Accounting, Senior Payroll Accountant, AP Specialist and Senior FP&A Manager.
- Own strategic financial planning across the company and track performance versus plan, identifying issues and opportunities before they arise. Work with other team members to understand revenue and cost drivers and define appropriate reports for tracking.
- Direct all aspects of accounting operations, overseeing all transactions related to general ledger, receivables, payables, payroll and financial reporting. Maintain policies and systems.
- Oversee monthly and quarterly activities in support of the financial close process including importing and exporting data, analyzing and explaining variances from expectations, and reconciling associated general ledger accounts.
- Lead the design, build, and maintenance of company financial models, including revenue models by product, income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statement.
- Lead efforts to continuously drive cross-functional improvements associated with processes related to revenue-related reporting. Research and resolve reconciliation issues and discrepancies; take corrective measures to mitigate while enhancing procedures to prevent recurrence.
- Oversee 409a valuations, annual audits and ensure accurate scheduling and recording of all revenue-related transactions in accordance with US GAAP.
- Support the CFO in developing and executing financial strategy, including but not limited to: capital financing to support growth plans, research on acquisition targets, participation in future funding rounds, and management of our cash position.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality and integrity of financial data.

- Able to document accounting practices in accordance to GAAP
- High attention to detail and excellent problem-solving ability
- Excellent analytical and MS Excel skills
- Exceptional track record of self-motivation, prioritization, initiative and integrity
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field or equivalent academic training and experience.
Experience
- 7-10 years of experience in accounting and finance
- CPA (Inactive OK)
- Previous ownership of FP&A and Accounting functions
- Experience working with rapidly growing, multi-product companies preferred
- Experience with consolidations
- Familiarity with debt is a plus
- Familiarity with fundraising is a plus
- Experience working with investors and boards a plus
- Proficiency with Accounting systems
- Big 4 experience a plus
