ABOUT THE ROLE:
As Director of Content and Campaigns you will be the lead within our global marketing organization to create content and help deliver it through strategic campaigns. By combining storytelling and research, you’ll lead the development of content that helps build and evolve our narrative to explain and engage audiences of our brand. You’ll plan and lead a wide variety of content that will be widely read, ranging from long and short-form content pieces used in marketing campaigns, the website, data reports, blog posts, research and beyond.
You will report to the Chief Marketing Officer and partner with key stakeholders through the organization from C-level executives to engineers, to product leads, to marketing and more with the goal of taking sophisticated and sometimes technical topics and turning them into compelling pieces of content for our audiences to connect with. This level of collaboration will support thought leadership, campaign generation and communication programs to drive brand awareness, increase customer engagement and drive new business.
Responsibilities
- Drive content strategy for AppLovin including the corporate website, global marketing campaigns, demand generation and growth campaigns, the blog, case studies, short videos and more.
- Deliver and ensure the ongoing stream of impactful, high quality content based on a monthly editorial calendar and participate as a key partner with the communications team to create a cadence of news and thought leadership.
- Bring a deep understanding of B2B technology combined with strong storytelling skills that are grounded in things like customer stories, industry trends and perspectives, and data that help spread the AppLovin story and brand.
- Partner with demand generation and product teams to drive customer awareness and expansion.
- Develop and deliver insights to the market that matter for customers, developers and leaders within the industry. Such research and information will be based on company and industry data, as well as surveys and interviews with customers and internal leads.
- Manage a team of content leaders committed to developing and publishing content that engages, informs and inspires our audiences.
Requirements
- 10+ years of related experience in creating content and editing for B2B technology-based companies. (Ad tech and/or mobile technology experience is strongly preferred and highly desired)Experience building, managing, and running content strategy and operations, in a startup technology environment.
- Extensive and demonstrated ability to build in-house B2B content and communications programs that have high impact, creating decisive thought leadership, brand awareness, sales engagements, and customer affinity to a rapidly evolving brand in a complex, emerging category.
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly in a hyper-growth environment. This means you will be setting and communicating strategy, managing teams, while still getting down in the weeds to get what's needed to get done!
- Ability to translate technical concepts into stories and content that connect with audiences across a wide spectrum (by geography, by industry, by level within the company, and beyond).
- Firm grasp of current storytelling across multiple channels, digital strategies, brand development experience gained in a B2B software environment.
- Understanding of the marketing funnel and how to build, deliver and measure content that accelerates top, middle, and bottom of funnel results.
- Proficiency with Google Docs, Asana, Wordpress and HubSpot
- Mastery of multiple form factors -- video, podcast, long-form, short-form, social, etc.
