The leader of Jam City’s Total Rewards and People Operations will be an innovator with strategic vision and an operator’s ability to execute. You will partner with the VP, People to ensure that all Total Rewards programs align with the goals of the company and support our unique culture by attracting, retaining, and rewarding employees.
The mandate for the role is both strategic and tactical in nature and will involve working as a functional leader/manager, a project leader, a collaborator partner, and a team member.
The aim is to bring operational excellence and to establish thoughtful people solutions that fuel an agile, innovative, collaborative, high-performing, and mission-oriented people culture.
The successful candidate will lead and drive our total rewards and Employee Experience strategy and tactics with an innovative approach and a continuous improvement mindset. This person will build on and evolve Jam City’s current total rewards philosophy and programs.
You will design programs and initiatives that match Jam City’s maturation journey as a company and reflect its value proposition and culture. You will bring thought leadership and thought partnership to the People Team to provide our employees with a fulfilling and rewarding experience. You will show a keen interest and understanding of the competitive environment for attracting, developing, and retaining talent. You will build on our current compensation & benefits programs, HR Ops and capabilities, and HR systems and technologies, with the goal of building cutting-edge, data-driven, robust, scalable HR systems, tools, and processes to serve our people and organization.
What you'll do -- Provide leadership on the execution and operational management of total rewards strategy and programs including:
COMPENSATION
- Lead the strategic design, implementation, communication, and administration of the company’s compensation programs, including equity and executive compensation programs
- Lead annual survey participation, and serve as the point of contact for all vendor questions and survey renewals
- Maintain global salary structures and incentive programs
- Review employee reward and recognition programs to ensure alignment with employee engagement and fuel performance
- Conduct job evaluations for new roles, and work with business leaders to review ad-hoc job inquiries
- Lead the annual compensation review and planning processes, ensuring risks and opportunities are articulated and addressed
- Review and continuously improve reward & recognition programs that best fit with the organizational culture, priorities, and changing business needs
- Recommend and implement changes to current plans and policies to stay current with laws, trends and competitors
BENEFITS
- Become benefits subject matter expert who is a resource to the employees for benefits related questions
- Provide oversight and management of the annual benefits open enrollment process, including partnering and negotiating with external vendors, preparing communications for employees, and working with the People team to ensure employees are well informed and engaged
- Provide oversight and management of benefits plan documents, plan design, implementation, administration, and compliance
- Recommend and implement changes to current plans and policies to stay current with laws, trends and competitors
- Partner with insurance brokers/ consultants to negotiate coverage and costs with carriers, and in partnership with finance managing the benefits budget
HRIS
- Drive process design and implementation of technology-enabled processes that drive efficiency for the People team. Own the implementation and roadmaps for Workday to ensure that HR technology is optimized to meet the needs of our business and employees
- Drive excellence in HR data and analytics to ensure high-quality data, consistent definitions, and enable robust reporting & analytics and business insights
PEOPLE OPERATIONS
- Shape and define the overall People Ops and Technology team strategy and operating model, which will initially include but is not limited to: Onboarding, Offboarding, Compliance, Immigration, Contingent Workforce Management, HR Support Infrastructure, and HR Technology
- Manage People-related policies and compliance, including new policy development, and adoption and implementation of new/updated compliance requirements to meet local, state, federal governing laws
- Lead all internal audits from an HR perspective
QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 10+ years of experience in HR, compensation, benefits, systems, and compliance, with at least 5 years in a managerial role within the gaming, entertainment and/or technology industry
- Technical proficiency in People Systems (WorkDay), compensation & benefits, short- and long-term Incentive plans, People-related legal and finance issues
- Experience working in global, publicly traded organizations is a plus
- Experience working with organization with heavy M&A is a plus
- Experience with compensation surveys/vendors and market pricing tools
- Experience in a fast-paced environment and demonstrated ability to scale, drive, and manage multiple projects and initiatives in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on operational excellence
- Experience with employee relations and demonstrated ability to drive employee engagement
- Understanding of the FLSA, ADA, FMLA, ACA, compliance with ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, and other relevant People-related policies and laws is desirable, with a demonstrated ability to research and understand compliance is a must
- High energy proactive style who naturally follows up and follows through
- Strong business acumen and business process orientation
- Robust communication and executive influencing skills
- Capable juggler who is willing and able to handle multiple responsibilities, multiple stakeholders, competing priorities, and tight timelines
- Demonstrated ability to understand business objectives and translate into people solutions, particularly in total rewards strategy and programs
- Solution-oriented problem-solving skills with rigorous decision-making skills
- Agile working style, with structured and pragmatic thinking and comfortable working with ambiguity and fluidity
