Director, Technical Product Management - Developer Experience

The opportunity
Unity Technologies is looking for a passionate and experienced Product Director to lead and help build our developer tools. As a Director the role will manage a team of hardworking, international Product Managers. Developer Services is part of the central Technology organization, it is the engine the powers the production pipeline, reliability and observability for all of the software built at Unity! You will be responsible for the strategy and company direction in how our software gets built and how to create outstanding user experiences. The key goals focus on developer happiness and large scale business impact through improvements in production!
What you’ll be doing
- Lead the vision for internal developer tools and services that bring outstanding software development practices to each team at Unity.
- Manage and mentor a Developer Service Product Team as they partner with Engineering leads and build successful roadmaps that show quantifiable outcomes.
- Partner with Developer Operations and the Product Director for Technology to bring successful internal tools to external customers.
- Lead strategy with clear data and analysis that models improvement in velocity, efficiency and quality. Work with technical executive partners, gathering feedback while sharing the vision and outcomes for developer experiences.
What we’re looking for
- Deep experience in developer workflows in Game production as an Executive Producer or similar.
- Management and team leadership skills developed in a variety of engineering and product environments.
- Data proficiency where metrics and analysis are used as the root of strategy and roadmaps. Experience with organizational change; aiming for alignment and leading effective transitions with engineering teams.
- Diverse experience, with the ability to pull from a broad toolkit of successful tactics and outcomes for improving internal developer happiness and efficiency.

- A technical background as a software engineer/developer
- An approach of treating internal services with similar outcomes and focus to external products
- A track record of cross org teamwork with executive partners
