Director, Publishing

The Director of Publishing will be responsible for driving our regional publishing business and selected global initiatives across all Epic’s IPs, especially our latest title Fortnite ( www.fortnite.com ). The ideal candidate comes from a role as General or Regional Manager with a proven track record of consistently delivering strong business results across multiple markets or products. You have to be capable of operating at the strategic level while also enjoying a hands-on approach to execution. Managing and growing talented people is part of your repertoire and you are comfortable operating in a data-driven and fast-paced industry where decision-speed, at times, trumps precision.

Responsibilities :
- Devise and implement the regional strategy for multiple markets and games making sure it delivers against our business goals and global brand vision
- Constantly identify and evaluate new business opportunities and provide frequent point-of-views, recommendations or updates to senior management
- Help prioritize and allocate budget across all EMEA markets to ensure that both financial and human resources are optimally utilized against company objectives
- Design and actively manage KPIs across multiple projects to track return on investment and internalize any new learnings
- Drive regional and sometimes global publishing projects forward being responsible for planning, alignment, execution and any post analysis
- Be the focal point of cross-functional collaboration between many different disciplines and stakeholders
- Build and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders like business and media partners, community influencers and various agencies
- Lead and develop both senior and junior members of your team and help senior leadership raise the overall performance of the local office by enhancing existing or introducing new ways of working
- Support the global publishing team with local insights optimizing every project or campaign for engagement, reach and monetization
Qualifications :
- You are a publishing professional with a strong quantitative toolbox who have solid experience within the gaming or entertainment industry
- You have had direct P&L ownership either as a business or product lead and you have demonstrated the ability to own a significant budget knowing how to make tough trade-offs to maximize the overall player experience and business impact
- You are capable of devising cutting-edge strategies backed by insightful market and player analysis
- You are great at tracking KPIs across multiple markets and projects and understand how to interpret information and devise a solid set of appropriate actions
- You have a deep understanding of the various games publishing disciplines but are especially versed in digital marketing and community building
- You constantly look for ways to learn and improve and you are comfortable providing tough feedback both upwards and downwards
- You always lead by example and enjoy developing less seasoned colleagues both within and outside your immediate team
- You don’t miss deadlines despite managing large and often very complex projects
- You know how to build long-term relationships and possess excellent interpersonal communication skills
