Director, Quality Engineering

As the Director of Quality Engineering, you will ensure Forte’s products and services are world class using state-of-the-art tools and technologies.

As an empowered leader within the organization you will drive our processes, tools and automation to support the continuous delivery of various customer projects, game services and infrastructure. Providing a hyper focused lens on quality throughout the software delivery process excites you, as you will be a pioneer in many areas of the blockchain and gaming industries.

• Set the objectives of the Quality Engineering organization in line with the vision and goals of Forte.
• Be an expert on Forte’s software products and services.
• Review and develop modern delivery processes and provide hands-on leadership to ensure quality is measured, understood and managed.
• Promote a culture of quality, test driven development, and an automation-first mentality
  throughout the organization.
• Own the development, capture, understanding and reporting of key performance and
  service level indicators of quality.
• Be the first and last line of defense for quality control, as it relates to supporting the development of new features or releases. You own the “go/no-go” decision-making process.
• Establish appropriate standards and controls to limit risk and liability in all areas.
• Direct staff in the support of quality assurance and engineering
• Be consulted for live operations, incident management and the real-time detection of indicators of quality issues.
• Partner with other teams - such as Product, IT, Business Operations & Token Economics - to develop policies, processes and support to align with our desired customer experience.
• Be a thought leader in quality engineering within the blockchain ecosystem by solving problems nobody has solved before

To be a good fit, you have...

• 8+ years of experience in cloud-based software development, quality engineering, DevSecOps, or equivalent (roles where you have been directly responsible for the complete software development lifecycle, including delivery or quality assurance)
• 3+ years of senior leadership experience in a related field (roles where you are managing the needs of multiple teams and executive stakeholders with little to no oversight).
• Hands-on experience with cloud computing platforms and delivery models, including AWS and GCP.
• An automation-first mentality with the ability to support quality assurance operations in fully automated environments
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop efficient processes and clear documentation for Forte and our customers
• A demonstrable history of successful delivery of high performance software products

Bonus if you also have...

• Experience with the fundamentals of blockchain technology, developer platforms, game design, and / or token economics
• Ability to gain buy-in and influence change, including with executives and challenging audiences
• High-growth or early-stage startup experience
• Experience managing global teams of engineers, quality assurance staff and SDETs
• A variety of open source contributions, public speaking engagements and authorship in relevant areas of expertise, demonstrating thought leadership.
