Job Description:
The Director, Marketing APAC will oversee all aspects of Marketing as the regional lead with local channel partners (Telco) with focus in Japan by developing and supporting joint and co-integrated marketing and GTM strategy and plans.
The Director, Marketing APAC is responsible for developing strategic marketing programs to integrate with Magic Leap’s local strategic partners such as Telecommunications/Carriers to increase partner engagement and product adoption. You will play a key role in the development of partner marketing programs, campaigns and events that drive brand awareness, demand generation and partner/channel engagement efforts.
The Director, Marketing APAC will also work cross-functionally with various key stakeholders within the organization to ensure cross-integration with Orbit teams such as Communications, Marketing, Experience and Product. The ideal candidate would be regarded as the local marketing lead and will work closely with partners to articulate and recommend the defined value propositions and motivators to drive demand to purchase; amplifying the channels that require demand and reach. The role will support the day to day requirements of the partner ensuring two-way communication between the regional marketing efforts and HQ.
As a member of the Partner Marketing team, the Director, Marketing APAC participates and informs the overall GTM planning and implementing of initiatives and activities of their local market to achieve organizational KPIs and objectives for the region. They will ensure that marketing initiatives/activities are aligned and consistently supplementing the organization’s goals and objectives.
Responsibilities:
Develop highly effective and strategic integrated marketing programs to drive Magic Leap’s local awareness, demand and incremental revenue
Develop quarterly marketing plans in association with key partners and work closely with corporate HQ teams to align, plan and execute including management of end-to-end campaign and initiatives to drive market opportunities
Work with partners to identify the most relevant partner/industry and/or regional events and customer engagement activities that drive awareness, demand and trial
Develop and manage the marketing channel strategy aligned to partner objectives and goals
Align partner marketing initiatives with overall Magic Leap objectives and goals
Plan and execute MDF plans and budgets for key partners
Simplify and improve partner access to marketing resources, sales enablement tools and training tracks
Partner, collaborate and build relationships within Magic Leap teams with emphasis of local sales and product groups to foster communication and collaboration to optimize opportunity and market development
Identify and flag opportunities for joint PR, digital/social media, and case studies to impact brand and market development for Magic Leap through partner relationships
Coordinate with key internal stakeholders in the development and production of materials to support campaigns/programs that are consistent with brand messaging and identity with localization requirements
Support marketing and experiential teams with demand strategies for external events including conferences, trade shows and other relevant initiatives
Track program performance with a data-driven approach analyzing success and ROI
Qualifications:
BA degree preferred or an equivalent combination of 7+ education and marketing and communications experience
B2B marketing experience in partner/channel marketing and program development is critical
Proven track record in creating and executing successful partner/channel marketing programs utilizing various marketing vehicles
In-depth knowledge of all marketing mediums and integrated campaign management.
Strong project, people management, and collaboration skills.
Proven ability to meet deadlines under pressure
Excellent people skills with an upbeat, enthusiastic attitude and a professional maturity suitable for a B2B environment
Superior written, verbal communication and presentation skills
Results oriented; take initiative with minimal supervision in a highly collaborative environment
Ability to effectively work under tight deadlines and manage projects independently
Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail
Polished professional who thrives in fast-paced environments, with an ability to adapt to change
Experience with working with other marketing disciplines such as communications, digital marketing, experiential and product marketing
Willingness to travel 50%.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field
Minimum 7+ years of related experience
Post-secondary education in marketing, communication or related area
MBA is a plus
Knowledge of internal organizational systems and interdependencies an asset
Experience in the Telecommunications and Technology Industry
Native level Japanese and good English fluency
