In this role, you will be a dynamic, strategic thinker and problem solver. An effective Facilities Director strives, at all times, to assist their studio leadership and office members to create and maintain the very best environment possible; to not only provide a top of class environment, but also to attract and retain the best talent.
This position will be responsible for managing the local Facility Managers and will be responsible for special areas of focus such as Construction, Sustainability, asset management and space optimization.
In this role, you'll manage multiple Facility Managers across North America and interface with local Office Managers and Studio Leaders at specific sites. The Regional Facilities Director will report directly to the VP of Real Estate and Workplace Services.
Main Responsibilities
- Oversee project management, planning, and strategic development of individual locations in partnership with local leadership
- Oversee local Facility Manager for all furniture installations, refurbishments, office reconfigurations and changes
- Ensure building operations and occupancy comply with all local zoning laws and regulations
- Direct facility management staff to deliver service levels within the prescribed budget
- Review various facilities management reports, processes and procedures and strives to create efficiencies where possible
- Oversee critical building systems to defined expectations
- Plan, budget, and schedule facility modifications, including estimates on equipment, labour, materials, furniture, and other related costs
- Design and develop organizational policies relevant to the facilities and corporate services department
- Oversee vendor contracts, including service agreements, COI’s, access coordination.
- Oversee tenant improvement projects from conception to completion, including; strategy, SOW development, RFP management, contract execution and project delivery
- Strategize and work with initiatives associated with new construction, renovations, and tenant improvements. Work with the Executives to ensure that new projects meet the future needs of the business
- Assist with global projects or initiatives as directed by the Vice President – Facilities, Real Estate, & Corporate Services
- Handle all real estate requirements, including new lease negotiations and execution
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Experience working with a senior Facilitates role, with team management responsibility, experience working across EMEA is advantageous
- Have worked in a customer facing role, within a fast paced business, preferably within a tech, digital or similar industry
- Ability to work cross-functionally
- Experience with Archibus configuration/development. Will consider candidates with similar configuration/development experience, such as CAFM systems
- CAFM system and electronic file management experience
- Deep knowledge of corporate space planning, standards, relational database concepts, facilities team functions and furniture systems. Understanding of commercial construction techniques and standards
- Solid project management abilities
- Good written and verbal communication skills
