Safety is Roblox’s top priority. The Safety Team is dedicated to protecting the Roblox community and ensuring our applications are safe and civil as we connect the next billion users to have meaningful social interactions. The fast-growing team features multidisciplinary work in machine learning, data engineering, and traditional high throughput / low latency microservices. Our real-time systems are used to protect our user base from bad actors such as criminal networks, exploitation, predatory behavior, or inappropriate content. We are seeking a visionary engineering leader to help build robust systems that evolve with our ever-changing adversaries.
As a Director of Engineering for the Safety Platform team, you will work closely with executive leadership, product, policy, and operations teams across Roblox. As we bring new immersive features to Roblox, you will be responsible for leading engineering in one of the most challenging and vital roles that Roblox is facing.
You are
- A thought leader with a proven track record of highly technical delivery in high scalability environments
- Passionate and experienced about safety and building platforms to protect and grow communities
- An outstanding recruiter who builds diverse and inclusive teams
- Experienced, with 12+ years in an engineering management role, 6+ years in a Senior leadership role (org size 50+), and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a similar technical field
- A great partner, closely with engineering peers, legal, product and our users to develop innovative solutions that will shape safety in metaverse
For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.
Annual Salary Range
$383,910 — $440,190 USD
