Director, Distributed Computing Partnerships

As a senior member of the strategic partnerships team, you will be empowered and required to work cross-functionally, to enable impactful technology partnerships that accelerate the growth and success of Magic Leap’s Augmented Reality platform.

We are seeking a creative, strategic, self-motivated technology partnerships Director to lead the charge in establishing and growing our partnerships with technology companies in the Distributed computing and Connectivity space. This individual will be responsible for identifying and building relationships with strategic partners to drive innovation and support our mission of creating an interconnected Augmented Reality world.

This role is based at our headquarters in Plantation, FL.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the bridge between the internal technology platform and business groups to translate market signal into business value by conceptualizing, structuring and executing strategic partnerships that deliver new products and features on our technology roadmap.
• Analyze relevant emerging technology market trends and work closely with product leadership to inform our product roadmap and identify opportunities for innovation.
• Proactively build, maintain, and evolve relationships with current and potential ecosystem partners to identify areas of growth with a particular focus on emerging technology platforms. You’ll cultivate and execute complex partnerships to secure Magic Leap’s successful product launches.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams including technology, product, design, and marketing to ensure alignment and successful execution of strategic partnerships.
• Define overall deal governance frameworks and critical goals to track the success and ongoing development of strategic partnerships.
• You will be empowered and responsible for the successful execution of business deals from inception to completion (identify, qualify, capture, negotiate, close). You will direct, along with senior leadership, the resolution of highly complex or unusual business problems applying advanced analytical thought and judgment.
• Understand the current technical features of our product roadmap and clearly communicate the benefits and advantages of the technology platform to partners and internal stakeholders.
• As a senior member of the partnerships team, you will be responsible for evaluating and prioritizing opportunities that will help the enterprise team secure large revenue opportunities.

Qualifications:

• Strategic mindset with the ability to evaluate market opportunities and identify potential strategic partnerships.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills to effectively build and manage partnerships.
• Understanding of the latest emerging technologies and their potential impact on the business.
• Working background and experience in broadband and connectivity technologies – MEC, SD-Edge, Next Generation WiFi, 5G/6G.
• Has a healthy balance of both technical hyperscale infrastructure knowledge in addition to a consultative client engagement approach.
• Proven track record in leading successful partnerships and product innovation.  Entrepreneurial mindset, proactive thinker with the ability to thrive in an often ambiguous, fast paced environment.
• Strong analytical and financial skills to evaluate the viability and impact of partnerships.
• A minimum of 10+ years of deal-making/partner management experience in the distributed computing or IoT solutions space is likely needed to successfully perform this role.
• Experience in product innovation and emerging digital technologies including AR, VR, ML/AI, and interactive experiences.
• Experience evaluating emerging technology solutions and companies for fit and viability against use cases.
• Entrepreneurial mindset, proactive thinker with the ability to thrive in an often ambiguous, fast paced environment.
• Coach/mentoring and conflict management/negotiation

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field; MBA is preferred
