Director, Corporate Development & Investments - NC Partners

The Director, Corporate Development & Investments is responsible for recommending and evaluating investment and acquisition opportunities to grow the company inorganically. The Director will work closely with our senior management and report into Principal Corporate Development Officer based in HQ (Korea) to ensure a successful execution of the corporate development strategy.

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and deliver on the strategy to broaden NCSOFT’s global strategic priorities both in and out of the gaming sector.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Conduct rigorous financial modeling to evaluate target company based on various business scenarios
• Conduct valuation work to assess attractiveness or proposed target company including payback period and ROI analysis
• Support on-the-ground ideation and sourcing of investment opportunities that align with the corporate development strategy
• Establish and expand relationship with industry counterparts and network
• Support research into both macro and micro level themes to assess attractiveness of target company or proposed deal
• Support and lead commercial due diligence as well as coordinating other forms of due diligence such as tax, legal and financial due diligence
• Propose deal terms and structure based on analysis
• Write investment memos and presentations to support senior management decision making
• Lead and support deal negotiations including review of legal documentations

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

• Passion for video games
• Strong understanding of financial modeling, valuation and financial analytics
• Strategic and entrepreneurial mindset
• Understanding and experience in reviewing and drafting IOIs, terms sheets and other forms of M&A related legal documentation as well as proven ability to identify, analyze and structure various deal types across M&A, JVs, project financing and/or publishing agreements
• Strong communication skills in managing expectation and communication across different time zones and up and down the organization
• Experience analyzing and presenting industry trends in emerging technology as well as linear and interactive entertainment
• Experience in investment banking, private equity, and/or venture capital and corporate development experience
