Job Title Director, Business Development, EA Originals
Working model: either on-site or hybrid
The Business Development team is looking for a Director, Business Development to support the EA Partners team in finding and securing the best third-party games across the globe to be published under the EA Originals label. You will have a strong understanding of the gaming market and will use your knowledge to identify strategic opportunities for EA. You will build relationships with internal teams to help you create business cases, prepare unique deal structures and negotiate publishing contracts with potential partners.
You're a great fit if you have a passion for gaming and have an ability to handle complex contract negotiations. You will work regularly with EA business leaders of all levels (director and above) and will occasionally lead meetings with senior leaders.
As part of EA's business development team, this role reports to the Senior Director, Business Development responsible for EA Partners and Motorsports business development.
As Director Business Development, your responsibilities will include:
Responsibilities:
- You will identify, build, and maintain relationships with the best and boldest PC and console independent game developers across the globe on behalf of the EA Partners business unit.
- Identify third party games at an early stage of development that will complement EA's strategic growth of the EA Originals label.
- You will build business cases on opportunities by working closely with key internal stakeholders including EA Partners, royalties, marketing, commercial, legal, finance and demand planning.
- Partnering with finance, you will create unique deal structures and then negotiate on business terms and the contracting process for third-party content.
- You will demonstrate expertise in the competitor landscape with an understanding of industry best practices by sharing information with relevant teams.
- You will form and express opinions on EA Partner strategy.
- Evaluate EA short to long term strategic needs and identify achievable solutions to meet internal goals and areas of opportunity.
- You will maintain a commercial relationship with signed developer partners.
Qualifications:
- A true passion for console or PC gaming.
- Extensive related experience in business development. Experience in video game publishing negotiations is a plus.
- Previous experience in the video game industry.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the game industry business trends.
- Experience in communicating with business leadership.
- Experience negotiating contracts at all management levels.
