Remedy Entertainment, the creator of Control®, Max Payne®, Alan Wake®, and one of the leading independent game studios in the world, is looking for a Development Manager for a key position in Northlight.
Northlight, our proprietary storytelling engine powering all Remedy games, has a critical role in ensuring the success of our current and future games. The Northlight team consists of more than 60 dedicated professionals, including programmers, engineers, development managers and designers, all working with the game teams to create intriguing game experiences.
We are now looking to expand the team with an experienced Development Manager to help drive Northlight development efforts and enable the production of Remedy games.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO
- In this role, you will own the engine backlog of at least one Northlight team. Proactively triaging the backlog on a daily basis, processing new items, updating existing ones and ensuring progress according to priorities.
- Supporting the work planning of the teams and facilitating meetings such as sprint planning or backlog grooming.
- Supporting the daily work of the team, assisting with cross-team collaboration and removing blockers.
- Communicating progress and changes of plans to Northlight's development managers and technical teams, aligning on schedule targets.
- Maintaining the team's short-term and long-term roadmap, breaking down high-level backlog items into actionable tasks for individual team members.
- Tracking progress against defined milestone targets, managing the scope and flagging any risks.
- Be accountable for teamwork practices.
- Contributing to process development by implementing best practices with support from the rest of Northlight's development management team.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE
- You have a couple of years of experience leading the daily work of technical teams in a complex and complicated environment and supporting efficient collaboration.
- You are skilled in managing and clarifying requirements on a task/story level.
- You are used to working with highly technical development teams on topics such as memory management, performance optimization, streaming, graphics rendering and more.
- You are familiar with development methodologies and frameworks like Scrum, Kanban and LEAN.
- You thrive working in a team environment, sharing ideas and learning from others. You are used to collaborating with colleagues across different departments and you are able to communicate and present your ideas in a clear and coherent way. As a team member you are dedicated contributing towards a friendly and inclusive work environment.
- You can work independently, being organized and able to document your work.
Additional Skills We Would Like to See:
- Programming background, ideally C++ or C#.
- Experience in game engine development or product development, especially building platforms/solutions extended or used by third parties.
- Knowledge of Atlassian tooling (Confluence, Jira).
