We are looking for an experienced Development Director with a proven track record for leading large scale mobile game development, ideally across multiple titles. This is a central role that interfaces with Product and Studio Heads to ensure consistency of game development process and tracking. The individual game studios have their own production management and focus predominantly on “what” to build while you and your team will focus on ensuring the consistency and quality of “how” to build successful products and processes. Specifically, you will advise on and solve production-related issues across multiple internal and 3rd party development studios and lead in the areas of project planning, progress tracking, scope and capacity management, milestone release planning, risk assessment and risk mitigation planning, and production teamwork coordination. You will proactively resolve cross-team dependencies and communicate project status, risks and plans to leadership and stakeholders. You will have a key strategic and operational role in shaping the future of our mobile gaming publishing business and the wider Pixel United organization.What You'll Do
- Support multiple global studios by guiding production strategy and execution as leader of a centralized publishing production team
- Ability to solve development challenges cross-functionally and interact effectively with stakeholders and team members. Responsibilities include project planning, progress tracking, scope and capacity management, milestone release planning, and risk assessment and risk mitigation planning
- Collaborate with Product, Studio Heads and producers, and other disciplines to ensure robust processes are in place for quality product execution and communicate project status, risks and plans to stakeholders
- Partner with Product and Studio production to ensure timelines provided by studios are both aspirational and realistic, especially around costing and scoping for the new game development greenlight process
- Entrepreneurial with a passion for helping build an organization within a major organization
- Establish best practices and centralized resources across production including partnering with our other business units such as Big Fish Games, Plarium, and Product Madness
- Collaborate with various discipline leaders in finance and product management teams to forecast headcount requirements for P&L models
What We're Looking For
- A SWAT team mentality: a love for problem-solving and supporting production across multiple global studios
- Ability and desire to be hands-on early on in tackling challenges while helping build out the centralized publishing organization, ideally prior experience in supporting a combination of studios and products in various lifecycles
- 5+ years of experience in mobile game production with strong understanding of mobile game development and proven track record of cross-functional success in driving project planning, progress tracking, scope and capacity management, milestone release planning, and risk assessment and risk mitigation planning
- Thoughtful, accountable, and driven with a solid balance of strategy and execution orientation
- Ability to collaborate in a global, diverse and face-paced environment and build consensus and drive results
