What You'll Do
We’re looking for a seasoned Development Director to join our Fortnite Ecosystem team. You’ll focus on providing strategic alignment support, ensuring optimization of resources and cross team collaboration and communication. You’ll also implement production methods and practices to effectively impact development. Reporting into the Director of Production, the ideal candidate has a blend of technical production and strong organizational management skills in game development.
In this role, you will
- Partner with leadership and team to create timelines, communicate goals to the team, stakeholders and executives, and execute on all team projects
- Wrangle all of Fortnite Ecosystem contractor/vendor plans, providing oversight, evaluation and tracking plans on how they integrate with our organization and strategy
- Shape processes and workflows to help streamline the development and release pipelines
- Define and implement effective processes and practices in production as they relate to reporting, risk management and change management
- Work with team leads to collect and monitor team capacity and activity to help keep everyone focused on strategic initiatives
- Provide transparency on project status and risks to stakeholders, ensuring they are properly informed of any impacts from shifts in project priorities
- Provide strong leadership in organizing large teams, running efficient meetings, processing reviews and continually evolving and improving based on stakeholder feedback
- Lead and conduct deep divers and analysis on problem areas or initiatives to help propose solutions and work with teams to improve, guide and exit scenarios
- Partner with leads and production staff to develop, implement, monitor, and improve new methods and workflows for game and tools development
What we’re looking for
- Seasoned leadership experience with the ability to effectively collaborate, challenge and influence a variety of stakeholders
- 8+ years of experience working in a production role where you’ve managed cross-functional teams in the creation and delivery of games and features
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- A history of successful production team development and management
- Deep understanding of game development and project management practices
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to details
- Experience owning complex process improvements
- Strong ability to provide teams with clear direction and timely helpful feedback to improve creative and technical processes, ensuring quality work is delivered on schedule and within budget
- Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
- Experienced with contract management, negotiations, onboarding, offboarding, and performance tracking
- An ability and desire to work directly with teams to resolve challenging issues
