Development Communications Manager – Total War: ELYSIUM

This is an exciting opportunity to join the team as a Development Communications Manager for our new title Total War: ELYSIUM a CCG coming to mobile and PC. This role will see you the product expert both internally and externally, and the link between the game development and the players. You play a crucial role in defining the product strategy, and roadmap, using player and market insight. You are the external face of the development team, crafting messaging and representing the game and Creative Assembly.
Key Responsibilities
The Development Communications Manager works closely, and daily, with the Brand Manager, Community Manager, Game Experience Manager and Product Manager in a Live Ops environment.
In this role, you will become a pivotal hub of deep game knowledge, representing the game with the community, and representing the community with the development and Live Ops teams. You will deliver player insight and reflect player needs in product and roadmap planning. Player insight will come from building and managing game test groups, including private groups and early access groups, ensuring members are active. You will then deliver insight to the project team, CA leadership team and publishing partners. You will follow competitor activity and communities, adding to the market insight to project planning and communications crafting.
Your role will focus on two-way communication between the community and Development team. This could include surveys, polls, taking part in livestreams, online AMAs and any other channels that you find to suit the game and community. You will write core internal and external communications for the game, including updates and responses to the community. In addition, you will showcase and demo the game at external events, and to business partners and players, being responsible for scripting the demo and delivering it.
Knowledge, Skill and Experience
Essential
- Community management experience, ideally throughout multiple stages of product life such as closed tests pre-launch, launch and post launch updates.
- Community sentiment analysis.
- Solid creative writing skills for crafting external communications (such as press releases, announcements, community posts ).
- Able to build constructive relationships within the organisation and with key community members.
- Exceptional written and spoken communication skills , including presenting and audience engagement, from players and influencers to business stakeholders.
- Strong interest in strategy and collectable card games.
- Willing to travel to industry events.
Desirable
- Experience working closely with a game development team and some understanding of the development process.
- Experience in a writing or communications role.
- Experience working with Discord, Brandwatch or sentiment analysis tools.
- Long-time CCG player.
- Willing to take part in livestreams.
