Developer Relations Manager
Job Description
To create games that enrich players’ lives, our teams rely on a wide array of external tech.
As a Developer Relations Manager, you’ll bridge communication between the external partners developing those technologies and the internal teams using them.
You’ll be the voice – and advocate – of both Ubi and our partners, representing the two to one another and always having each other’s best interest at heart.
You’ll engage with a broad range of stakeholders: collecting, assessing, and conveying feedback to influence future developments.
All in all, you’ll offer support and guidance internally while strengthening external relationships, allowing for deeper, more meaningful collaborations. And help provide teams – across the company – with products best aligned with their needs.
What you’ll do
- Collaborate closely with production team members to discuss and assess their external technology needs + provide guidance and support from pre- to post-purchase.
- Build and maintain relationships with external partners, acting as their main point of contact.
- Participate in many (many) recurring meetings with external partners and internal teams (like purchasing, legal, IT, etc.) to ensure transparency and visibility; proactively follow up on progress; suggest new products; identify useful features; etc.
- Define negotiation strategies, anticipate potential roadblocks, and plan accordingly.
- Stay up to date on technological advancements, industry trends, and developer relations best practices.
- Foster communication and knowledge sharing, relaying information to the right people at the right time – in the most appropriate format.
- Occasionally travel (as global health guidelines allow, of course!) to meet with external partners, attend events, visit other studios, etc.
Qualifications
What you bring
- Experience in software development
- The ability to gain a deep understanding of your collaborators’ needs to best address them
- Effective French and English communication: you’re comfortable communicating both formally and informally & can break down complex information for various audiences
- Analysis and problem-solving skills
- Experience with (or interest in) project management & financial and legal agreements
- Flexibility to balance shifting short-term priorities, long-term goals, and urgent issues
Just a heads up: If you require a work permit, your eligibility may depend on your education and years of relevant work experience, as required by the government.
