Supermassive Games are seeking a DevOps Engineer to join a new team responsible for taking our games into the realm of live service models. This is an exciting role as it will give you the opportunity to not only bring your own experience to the project, but also have an amazing growth opportunity to help build this service from the very beginning.
Role responsibilities:
- Designing the network model for a live service using platform tools
- Gather requirements from Development Team and work with Game Server Engineers to implement infrastructure to run and manage platform servers to run live service titles
- Outline and document technical requirements
- Investigate to achieve availability, scalability, resiliency, and low latency of infrastructure
- Building and maintain development pipelines between internal/external groups
- Monitor platform metrics to add/remove servers as needed by service
- Actively participate, give feedback, negotiate, and consult in feature and technical design discussions
Requirements
Skills and experience required:
- At least 3 years’ DevOps experience working with server network systems
- Game industry experience a plus, but not a must
- Experience with infrastructural code and services (PlayFab, Kubernetes, Terraform) from networking, databases, telemetry, security
- Experience maintaining live game servers as a service, and understanding of networking concepts
- Experience maintaining database server
- Experience creating and maintaining development pipelines
- Experience working on projects that use Unreal Engine
- Automation of infrastructure and live support (configuration, asset management, release control, client and server builds)
- Excellent communication skills and experience working with multiple disciplines in a development environment
