Possibility Space is seeking a DevOps Engineer to help us mature our development infrastructure for a new and growing distributed studio comprised of talented developers, engineers, testers, artists, designers, and producers. In this role you will drive efforts to design and build great tooling and workflows for our developers across many disciplines, as well as a cloud-based CI/CD infrastructure for our Unity clients and backend services.
Reporting to the DevOps Engineering Director, this role collaborates with disciplines across the entire project to enable the team and provide highly scalable & performant cloud services that will run our product.
Core Responsibilities & Objectives
• Mature our development tooling, pipelines, and workflows to improve development velocity & quality from code check-in to production deployments.
• Develop an understanding of our platform requirements and business goals to collaboratively design & implement cloud infrastructure with our services teams that is scalable, performant, and secure.
• Build reliability monitoring & telemetry for high-availability services with fast failure recovery.
• Establish standards and best practices across our pipelines and cloud infrastructure that emphasizes re-usability, self-service, scalability, and security.
• Advocate for other developers with plans to improve tooling, workflows, automation, etc.
• Deliver comprehensive solutions, ensuring they are stable, highly performant, well documented, and testable.
Core Traits (Skills, Knowledge, Experience)
- Expertise in DevOps and CI/CD principles and best practices.
- Experience with deploying and maintaining infrastructure via cloud platforms leveraging terraform.
- Experience leveraging containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Solid analytical problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Diligent mentality, robust sense of responsibility/accountability, and strong verbal/written communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.
Bonus Traits
- Experience with game development.
- Experience with Unity.
- Experience with Azure.
- Experience developing for a live, service-based product.
- Experience developing tooling and workflows for developers in non-engineering roles such as artists and designers.
Physical Requirements
- Close vision to monitors and screens, consistently working on computer equipment such as keyboards and monitors, long periods of sitting.
