Design: UI / UX Designer

Unknown Worlds is looking for a User Experience designer to work on our newest game - Moonbreaker. The UI / UX designer is responsible for ensuring our games are approachable, accessible and understandable to our players. They work closely with the UI artists and other members of the design team to establish consistent and discoverable connectivity between the players intent, their actions, and the games systems.
This is a remote position on a fully remote team.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the art team on the UI/UX design for our games and establish a UI/UX style guide
- Create high level game flow ensuring players can discover and interface with all aspects and modes of the game
- Develop wireframes and visual prototypes in accordance with the style guide and game’s design
- Work with gameplay designers to ensure players have a satisfying and consistent experience interacting with the game
- Ensure our UI/UX designs are adaptable to multiple platforms including console and mobile
- Ensure our UI/UX meets all certification requirements and standards for all target platforms
- Iterate on UI/UX design to address playtest feedback and community feedback from our players
Qualifications
- Deep understanding of game usability, interaction design, visual design and UI/UX best practices in modern video games
- Shipped at least one game with involvement from pre-production to finaling the product
- Expert knowledge of UI/UX design for mobile and tablet devices
- Strongly self motivated, self-aware and self directing.
- Exceptional communication skills and a strong desire to collaborate with other passionate game developers
Preferences
- Familiarity with UI/UX implementation in Unity engine
- Experience with and understanding of live games / games as a service
- Familiarity with products focused on user generated content or in-game creative content creation
