Delivery Manager (Project Manager)
ustwo is looking for a Delivery (Project) Manager adept at leading a product design team and supporting their efforts in exploring and validating concepts in order to drive next level performance. In this role, you must be confident working closely with clients and senior stakeholders to explore ambiguous design challenges.
As a Delivery Manager, you must understand the conditions necessary for a successful project engagement for you, your team, and the client. You will provide guidance in team thinking and decision-making, leading clear discussions with both your team and client in the face of project risks or issues.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Intake, scope, cast, manage, and deliver projects and/or products with quality and consideration.
- Deliver a variety of projects from full product life cycles to short experimental pilots for clients. With a solid foundation of agile thinking and principles, you’ll determine the right approach for the team, client, and project.
- Create an environment and structure for teams to thrive and progress in. This will be supported by clear project communication, efficient use of project tools, and hygienic processes for handling project risk, escalation, and change requests.
- Structure, facilitate, and help drive both internal and client-facing workshops, reviews, and retrospectives for maximum efficiency and impact.
- Be responsible for the operational considerations relating to the quality of your project. This includes scoping necessary resources, project documentation, estimation, tracking of project burn, project budgeting, management of issues, and ownership of project shut down.
- Be heavily client-facing, responsible for the face, direction and overall health of the account, seamlessly managing and prioritizing multiple stakeholders. You will lead the client relationship from the perspective of project management and project hygiene.
YOUR SKILLS
- Driven and dependable. You care passionately about the work you commit to and strive to meet the standards you set. Your team knows they can come to you based on the framework of the project and the interaction patterns you have established.
- Balancing the tightrope. You take client and team requests and create forums for discussion to help prioritize and make decisions that do right by the project and people.
- The Project is your garden. You tend to the details as needed but always know the overall status and most urgent needs of a project.
- Produce clear reading materials. Reports, emails, statuses will all be second nature and have the right balance of action imperative and detail to make considered decisions or promote awareness.
- Project Ceremonies. These are fascinating and fundamental opportunities for you to learn throughout current projects, and make future projects stronger. You understand the value of embracing change to better serve the project team.
YOUR EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of 3 years of experience delivering work at an agency, studio, or similar.
- You have a proven track record of working with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver complex digital products and services that focus on compelling consumer experiences.
- In addition to a range of smaller pieces that have helped grow your thinking and approaches, you have delivered at least one major project that speaks to your overall career development and success in delivery.
- You are an expert at crafting a project plan, statement of work (and supporting documentation), and a ways-of-working approach to ensure your project is set up to flourish.
- You can successfully lead project kickoffs that bring the project and client team together over an aligned set of goals and outcomes.
- You are an experienced practitioner and advocate of agile methodologies.
