Data Steward

Activities of the DWH / dataWARS team at Wargaming are aimed at creating data warehouse centralized system, gathering, processing and storage of data of all our games in all regions across the globe, reporting and processing of financial information are also performed by our team.

Due to growth we are looking for a Data Steward to join our team. At Wargaming you’ll be exposed to a variety of projects and responsible for the definition and implementation of data governance policies, enriching data assets with metadata and documentation, increasing the discoverability of an organization’s data via implementing business glossaries, data and KPI catalogs.

The DWH / dataWARS team works in a fast paced and diverse environment that requires a flexible and responsible person with a high level of self-motivation who is eager to learn and work in a complex and technical environment.

What will you do?

• Lead the definition and implementation of data governance policies, processes and standards to promote quality and compliance of the company's data.
• Ensure that Data Quality issues are actively tracked, managed and remediated in a timely manner working with all stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Business Process Owners and Data Producers to ensure master data standards align across end-to-end processes and within the data ecosystem.
• Enrich data assets with metadata and documentation.
• Determine and ensure compliance to all rules in the protection of personal information.
• Provide metrics on metadata descriptions from data sources to measure completeness of descriptions and compliance with metadata standards.
• Increase the discoverability of an organization’s data via implementing business glossaries, data and KPI catalogs.
• Help organization maintain data security and privacy without slowing down data agility

What are we looking for?

• 4+ years of experience in Business Analysis, Data Analysis, Data Management and/or Data Stewardship;
• Prior experience with implementation support of a Data Governance program, Data Catalog, Data Lineage tool, Data Quality or Master Data Management initiatives.
• Hands-on knowledge of data privacy, security, and associated regulations.
• Solid experience in elicitation and managing requirements using a variety of best practice methods.
• A strong understanding of data lifecycle management, data modelling, master data management.
• Knowledge of SQL.
• Facilitation, organizational and documentation skills.
• The capability of identifying and analysis of data quality issues and linking those issues with data policies and processes.
• Experienced in building effective stakeholder relationships.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
• Russian & English Language skills – B level, written and spoken
• Quick learner who is responsible and self-motivated

What additional skills will help you stand out?

• Understanding of ETL processes.
• Experience with corporate systems (Jira, Confluence).
• Experience with making presentations to both internal and external teams.
• Strong background in economics, statistics, computer science, math or a related field.
