Data Scientist

Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC seeks a Data Scientist in San Diego, CA to improve the security of the network platform by applying statistics methodologies and Machine Learning algorithms to identify and prevent threat vectors. Requires a Master’s degree in Statistics, or related field or equivalent, and three (3) years of experience using leading statistical data science techniques to optimize modeling methodologies. Prior experience must include three (3) years of experience performing large scale data manipulation and pre-processing raw data for relational databases and structured data format to assess, clean, merge, and analyze large data sets from different data sources; utilizing supervised and unsupervised learning applied to feature selection, dimensionality reduction, hyper-parameter tuning, model optimization, and statistics inferences driven by business problems; monitoring model performance tracking and validation on sensitivity analysis for model predictive power; identifying best model candidates based on optimization of KPI metrics; utilizing K-fold cross-validated samples and out-of-time hold-out samples to generate independent score distribution for internal validity of model generalization; and utilizing advanced statistical software to develop linear/non-linear, parametric/non-parametric, classical statistical methods, modern machine learning-based predictive modeling techniques, and data mining analytic methodologies.
